The Trump administration has prioritized Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education. The Summary of the 2018 State-Federal STEM Education Summit, White House, Office of Science and Technology Policy, highlighted the following key goals that are both transparent and achievable:
By forging stronger connections for students between the worlds of education and work; focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship; integrating computer science principals; and improving access to STEM programs for all Americans, including women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and people in rural areas, the Trump Administration has underscored the importance of STEM Education to the development of the future American workforce (p.3).
nCASE’s personalized training programs and services are built upon these same workforce development goals and objectives. Our highly skilled staff and instructional team provide rigorous and relevant teacher and student STEM training in a variety of locations throughout the nation (serving underrepresented populations).
nCASE has trained 2,866 STEM teachers and 511 DoD scientists and engineers. Approximately 286,600 students were impacted from at least 33 states (including the District of Columbia), representing 134 congressional districts. If you also consider that there are nCASE-trained teachers who have continued to implement our instructional strategies each year since the beginning (2006-present), the actual number of students is far higher.
nCASE works with a variety of local, regional, state, and national partners representing education, government, military, economic development, non-profit, and private business to create effective teacher and student training, in and outside the classroom. Thus, nCASE is committed to dynamic, customized programs that immerse teachers and students in activities associated with inquiry- and design-based learning to supplement the normal STEM curriculum. Following training, participants can reinforce what they learned via demonstration projects, additional training, research opportunities, and management oversight.
