nCASE has been awarded the Department of Defense (DoD) Prek-20 STEM Outreach Grant (#W15QKN-20-1-1000).

Among the advantages, this five-year, $25 million grant will be managed by our current grant manager, Shahram Dabiri, and provides us the ability to accept funding directly via Picatinny through the MIPR process as always.

The DoD is the largest employer of scientists and engineers (S&Es) in the U.S. and employs nearly half (46%) of the scientists and engineers in the Federal government. Under the Federal STEM strategic plan, it is charged with developing STEM initiatives that are unique to its mission and meeting the national goals of: improving instruction; increasing engagement; growing the pool of STEM degree holders; broadening the participation of historically underserved groups; improving the graduate school experience; and in participating in national and state STEM activities. DoD STEM represents the Department's mission to attract, inspire, and develop exceptional STEM talent across the educational continuum to sustain nation's technological edge. It is estimated that 80% of the jobs in the U.S. will require STEM skills in the next decade.

nCASE supports and collaborates with DoD laboratories throughout the U.S. to deliver: in-person STEM training, support/outreach activities, program assessment, program evaluation, and promising national training initiatives (i.e. distance learning/telepresence, summer institutes, internships, scholarships, robotics, design challenge activities) designed to increase and sustain youth and public engagement in STEM and are aligned with the individual state standards and Next Generation Science Standards. Programs will continue to be student-centered, teacher focused, offered in formal and informal settings, and will strengthen the curriculum and instruction within our nation’s classrooms.

We are confident that our customer-focused support services, innovative teacher and student training, creative outreach programs, sound internal policies and procedures, dedicated staff, and effective follow-up, assessment, and evaluation methods will deliver an exemplary result.

We thank you for partnering with us in the past, and we look forward to working with you in the future. If you are interested in collaborating with nCASE, please call Dr. Nancy Priseac, Director for Programs and Training, at (724) 366-0709.

Warmest regards,

Dr. Stephen and Nancy Priselac and the nCASE Team
